Sad losses...

This has been a sad year for us and it is only February.. A good friend of mine, her Brother in Law passed in January, we have a good family friend whose hubby passed this week and another friend of mine, her 4 month old has been battling seizures and sadly the seizures have won. Please keep all of them in your thoughts and your prayers.

The flu... and us.... .

As I type this I have just finished clawing my way out of this casket that is the flu and I finally see the light! Ryn and I have been so so sick-we both got the flu and it has kicked us up and all around.
Martin, has not gotten it at all...

On a more scary note-last Friday, Ryn and I were babysitting for our little Thomas-and she was not acting like herself at all. She was whinny, clingy, and just a mess but most of all she didn't want to eat. We were hanging on the couch feeding Thomas and all of a sudden she became very stiff, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she began to mumble. I called 911 and assumed that she was having a seizure and she was a febrile seizure. We went to the dr's and he confirmed. It seems to have been brought on by her quick fever spike. Can I tell you what a horrible mother I felt like-it was just horrible... My sweet little Miss... my baby..

Needless to say, she has been a TOTAL brat this week, as her mommy and daddy have let her get away with MURDER! but she is fine and we will have to really watch fevers in the future. Also 1:3 kids have these types of fevers and 99% grow out of them by the time they are 5.

So, pray for no more flu!

Well, we have done it.. .we are having a party for the Miss!! We are so excited.. Every time we ask her how old she is; she holds up one finger and says ONE! So I guess we need to make it official with a party!

Ryn is just coming into her own. She is her own little person and beginning to pretend play-it is the most delicious thing I have ever seen!!!
Today-we had to run a LOOOONNNGGG errand and we brought Lola, her dolly. She was SO cute-the entire car ride she *mothered* Lola.. "Okay, Lola... look at the big bus, need diaper change? OHHH big poop!!! I change you, diaper time (can you tell we are a TOUCH obsessed with potty training???), I help you...."

IT WAS THE MOST FRICKIN ADORABLE THING I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!!

We just love our Miss!!!!!

So.. will she know that in 2 years...

I have never had her party on her birthday??? If so, will she care? LOL!!!!
The terrible twos' seem to be over, our Little Miss is SO much better. She is talking more than your average 2 year old and Martin wants her tested for MENSA.. ( I Think that is the smart people club) She can count to 18 and can *write* her name... Martin SWEARS she can...
Speaking of Martin, he is LOVING his job at CIS and I am LOVING... I MEAN LOVING... my job as SAHM to Ryn.
We have been looking at houses and are VERY ready to buy-cross your fingers and toes for us!
Traci (that's me) has taken a managment position with a volenteer position in CHarlote-Charlotte Mommies.com... she is the Co-Charitable events Manager... Makes sense huh!?

ARRRRUUGGG the 2's SUCK!!!

I hope that Ryn looks back on this one day when she has a head strong, determined, stubborn 2 year old... (laughing yet mom!?) and realizes what wonderful parents we are.... I mean really...

We have affectionatly began to call Ryn; evilena aka the SPAWN of SATAN.... LOL...

She is all that a woman should be... proud, determined, opinionated and strong... "not so much" in a 2 year old..

Martin and I have created "the final countdown" on our planners so we know JUST HOW LONG until this phase is over...
Let me share the latest......

Ryn and mommy went to Burlington to visit the in-laws... GREAT trip.. (love not cooking-thank you Jane!) Ryn was the angelic child we have come to know and love, great day.

So I put EVIL.. I mean Ryn to bed at her normal time in her pack and play and I watch The Closer with Jane and Pop... Then about about 10 I hear this tapping coming from her room... *tap-tap-tap-tap-tap* so I go to the door, listen and hear feet shuffling... Hmmmmm I think to myself...

I open the door and THERE SHE IS-STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM....... OUT OF THE PACK N PLAY.....

our conversation is as follows...

R: "hi mama, I wake!"
T: "I see that... "
R: "I take good nap..."
T: "it is still night time Rynnie...."
T:" how did you get out of your crib?"
R: points to a chair... " I climb"

ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME???????

she pulled a chair from the desk over, climbed on it and got out of her pnp.......
LOL!!!!!!
Needless to say it was a long night.....


So good night too all and mom... Yes I get it!

Well we ALMOST have made it.. Ryn will be 2 in about 18 days... My little baby will be 2..... I....might.......cry.........
She is AWESOME! She is begining to play on her own A LOT.. SHe is begining to use her imagination when playing-like with her kitchen and her dolls.
She is BIG I MEAN HUGE into Elmo and trucks. We love Elmo....
I am still in the land of Stay at home momdom and I love it, MArtin LOVES his job!
Kati and Cody will be married a year very soon and we have had the awesome oppertuntiy of getting to know their son Hunter this year. He is the coolest kid!
OH! Mom and I had a yard sale this month and *note to self* yard sales in November NOT A GOOD IDEA... it's COLD. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
Their house is almost done, so Ryn's 2 year old party will be held there in Jan...
On the house front-MArtin and I hope (crossing our fingers and toes) to be in a house by the Spring...

This and that....

Nothing really new to report... Ryn is wonderful, Martin LOVES his new job OH and all our family is preggers! Our cousins Holly and Emily (who are sisters) are preggers at the same time and are due in the March to June time frame. I am still a nanny and am taking on a new little one on a very part-time basis-you all remember my Best Friend Sarah and her little on Lexi? Well Lexi is going to come and play weekly and I am too excited as Ryn NEEDS a playmate.
