ARRRRUUGGG the 2's SUCK!!!

I hope that Ryn looks back on this one day when she has a head strong, determined, stubborn 2 year old... (laughing yet mom!?) and realizes what wonderful parents we are.... I mean really...

We have affectionatly began to call Ryn; evilena aka the SPAWN of SATAN.... LOL...

She is all that a woman should be... proud, determined, opinionated and strong... "not so much" in a 2 year old..

Martin and I have created "the final countdown" on our planners so we know JUST HOW LONG until this phase is over...
Let me share the latest......

Ryn and mommy went to Burlington to visit the in-laws... GREAT trip.. (love not cooking-thank you Jane!) Ryn was the angelic child we have come to know and love, great day.

So I put EVIL.. I mean Ryn to bed at her normal time in her pack and play and I watch The Closer with Jane and Pop... Then about about 10 I hear this tapping coming from her room... *tap-tap-tap-tap-tap* so I go to the door, listen and hear feet shuffling... Hmmmmm I think to myself...

I open the door and THERE SHE IS-STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM....... OUT OF THE PACK N PLAY.....

our conversation is as follows...

R: "hi mama, I wake!"
T: "I see that... "
R: "I take good nap..."
T: "it is still night time Rynnie...."
T:" how did you get out of your crib?"
R: points to a chair... " I climb"

ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME???????

she pulled a chair from the desk over, climbed on it and got out of her pnp.......
LOL!!!!!!
Needless to say it was a long night.....


So good night too all and mom... Yes I get it!

Well we ALMOST have made it.. Ryn will be 2 in about 18 days... My little baby will be 2..... I....might.......cry.........
She is AWESOME! She is begining to play on her own A LOT.. SHe is begining to use her imagination when playing-like with her kitchen and her dolls.
She is BIG I MEAN HUGE into Elmo and trucks. We love Elmo....
I am still in the land of Stay at home momdom and I love it, MArtin LOVES his job!
Kati and Cody will be married a year very soon and we have had the awesome oppertuntiy of getting to know their son Hunter this year. He is the coolest kid!
OH! Mom and I had a yard sale this month and *note to self* yard sales in November NOT A GOOD IDEA... it's COLD. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
Their house is almost done, so Ryn's 2 year old party will be held there in Jan...
On the house front-MArtin and I hope (crossing our fingers and toes) to be in a house by the Spring...

This and that....

Nothing really new to report... Ryn is wonderful, Martin LOVES his new job OH and all our family is preggers! Our cousins Holly and Emily (who are sisters) are preggers at the same time and are due in the March to June time frame. I am still a nanny and am taking on a new little one on a very part-time basis-you all remember my Best Friend Sarah and her little on Lexi? Well Lexi is going to come and play weekly and I am too excited as Ryn NEEDS a playmate.

Mommy's new job.

Well it is offical. I am no longer at my preschool and home with the Miss FULL TIME... OH DEAR... Martin and I are really excied about it and it saves us a TON in childcare. I mean if I wanted to work to pay for childcare I would work full time.
Today was my first day of SAHM(dom) and it was great. Tomorrow a playdate and the afternoon with Thomas (the little man we sit for).

On another note; Martin's beloved grandfather is in the hospital with a broken hip. It started out with emergency gall baldder surgery and ended up with a rod and screw in his hip... Ryn and I went and visited him tonight and he is looking better.
Please keep him and our family in your prayer.

The Miss is doing well and her new favorite saying is "I feed you" which means "take me out of this chair and put me on your lap while I eat"
I don't know WHERE she gets her personality from.... (Wink-wink)

Childcare and Flordia...

Mom and dad gave Martin and I an anniversary present this year... A trip to thier timeshare wherever... Since we are taking the Little Miss we decided on Flordia. We are SO excited. We are staying at a resort in Orlando and plan to sleep, nap, eat, drink, play at the pool, and visit the beach-my idea of a perfect vacation.

You all will not BELIEVE how much Ryn is talking-I mean she doesn't SHUT UP..... Her newest phrase is "I hold you" meaning "pick me up right now at this very moment...!!!" but since it melts our hearts we pick her right up.. She uses 3-5 word sentences, is following 2 step unrelated directions, and is jumping with both feet leaving the floor... An early intervention therapists' DREAM!!! Martin and I are so in love...

Ryn is attending my school 2 days a week and stays with a sitter, Heather Marie, two days a week and I try to get on dad's schedule for the other day.... (he is a busy man!) She loves Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Gupta she talks about them all the time. We are also bbsitting for the cutest little infant names Thomas-I think Ryn is in LOVE... Every time we get in the car-she says "go see Thomas???" It is to die for...

Nothing else new to report-there may be a surprise coming soon (no I won't be pregnant!)

Martin, Traci and new jobs...

It seems like every fall Martin and I have new jobs...
YES FOLKS!!! MARTIN HAS A NEW JOB!!! He will be doing something (still not sure what) with Communities in Schools. A non-profit (OH HECK NO, NOT AGAIN!!!!) that offers support and other stuff to the Latino/a population in Charlotte Meck.
I am so so so so so so so so proud of him and Ryn and Tucker are too.

He will start ASAP on an ease in schedule and then to full time as soon as he can get out of the hell we like to call All State. He is THRILLED!!!! Thank you again for your thoughts and your prayers.

I am at Myers Park Baptist Preschool in the 5 day 4's and I think I will like it but I am gonna MISS my Little Miss SSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much I am not sure I can do it.... We will see how long I last...

Other than that The Miss is fine, family is great and that is all for now!

Fever has BROKEN~~

YAY!! we are down to 99.1... YES!!!!
She is sleeping away.

We had our 18 month check up (at 20 months!) and she did great. Charlotte Peds is wonderful-they do a developmental check list (YAY!!!) The nurse asked me "does Ryn have b/t 6-8 words... SNORT... LAUGH.... "Yes" was my answer.
At this time, Rynnie looks at the nurse and says "I put in trash" referring to her paper towel. The she goes "I DID IT!!!" and claps.... The nurse smiles and says "check!"
She is so verbal-as in my dads words " I think I over did it" with the talking.

She is in the 90% in weight and height and 95% in head circumfrance... (lots of brains in there)

My baby is growing up!!!!!!

Ryn and random fevers.. GRRRR...

So last night was HELL... for both of us and Martin.. (tee-hee)
Seriously-Ryn gets these random fevers and they SUCK!
Last night she was up every 2 hours with 103+ fever on Motrin. She slept with mommy and daddy but that is hard. She is a HUGE bed hog-but we love her.
She is better today, back to her 3 hour naps.
Tonight was rough-Ryn was up for about 3 hours (on and off) crying and having fits..She is smart enough to know what is going on but still the baby...
Tomorrow we will hang with the Beeker fam.Hope my Miss is up for it.. and me too...

August 17th and no new post!

Hi all!
I am trying to be better about posting in the blog. So here we go!!!!
I am about to JUMP back into the world of part-time work. I will start as the lead teacher in the 4 year old classroom at Myers Park Baptist on the 22nd of August. I am super excited about teaching BUT am so upset about leaving my Miss again... She will be with daddy on M/W/F but she has been with me since March and Martin don't do to well with toddlers... (insert winking here!). He is honestly the best daddy ever but Ryn and daddy have some power struggles.

On a better note! Mr. Martin has a potential job offer!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! We think he will be starting at Communities in Schools-ASAP. Also my hustling days are OVER! Martin *may* be taking a 2nd job. Primerica has offered him a gig-and we are thinking about PT for him-just for x-tra $$...

Ryn's skin is SO SO SO SO SO SO SO much better-if you need a pediatric dermatologist-contact Dr. Rebecca Smith!!! She is amazing! I mean My Miss looks so much better and is not itching in her sleep and there is no more itching until she bleeds...

Tucker is still loving life... Fat and happy!

We just got back form a trip to Burlington where we visited Grandma Jane and the Papa. We had so much fun, I think Pop was ready for the EVER rambuncious Rynnie to leave... SHe is something else. On our ride home, My Miss talked THE WHOLE WAY!!!!! I mean she didn't SHUT UP!!! She has over 100 words and is combing 2-4 word sentences... Can you say MENSA!!!!@!!!!!!

My sister and her hubby-Coco aka Cody are doing great. Kati is a big shot at Commscope in Hickory, and Cody is doing great with his job as well. Hunter is like 15 (how old is he!!!!??) and doing great.

Our newest....

So here is out situation...

Traci (the mama!) is out of work.. Thank you Easter Seals UCP!
I am at home looking for a job this fall... I would like to nanny and teach..

Ryn is 20 months old and is TALKING like a mad woman... I mean can she STOP!!!!!!?????
She is exhibiting some sensory issues that we are going to have checked out. She is less sensitive to pain and seeks out a TON of sensory input-more than I am able to give her. So we are going to have an OT eval done very soon....
Other than that she is my everyday amazement... I just adore her.

Martin is still at All State... (anyone have an job opening???) he HATES 2nd shift but he is such a good provider for our family!

Soon it will be August and all of us will have met HUGE milestones... COdy and I will be 30, Martin will be 31, Gabby will be 3, Jon and Danna will have a one year anniversary, Paula and Rick will have an anniversary, Paula will turn 29, mom and dad will have an anniversary, Anne will have a birthday.. and there is something I am forgetting... hmmmm... August is HUGE for us!

Little Miss and her skin... GRRRRR...

So since I have been a slacker with this blog! I thought I would post an update with the Miss' skin drama...
Ryn has eczema and it is really, really, really, really bad.. She itches herself raw and bleeds... (insert picture of mommy crying!)
So we went to see a dermatologist in Ft. Mill (that was out of pocket-I might add) and she was a GODDESS!!!! Dr. Rebbecca Smith at Ft. Mill dermatology.. She took one look at the Miss and was like-"oh no.. this baby is TOO beautiful that have these issues.." So we have a new cream, homeopathic and steroid, we also have a new allergy medicine-which does not make her CRAZY... and she is like a brand new toddler.. I mean her skin looks normal, she is sneezing less, and most importantly she is not itchy!!!!!!!
So we are doing great with the new treatments...YAY!!!!!!

Little Miss Ryn

Ryn is our little girl. She was born 13 months ago after 24 hours of labor. She was born weighing 9 pounds and 2 ounces and was truly the most amazing creature I have ever seen. Ryn was named after her great grandmother (deceased) and her favorite aunt and her mother and Nana, meaning she has a strong line of women to live up to.

Now, at 13 months, she is walking VERY well, saying 5-6 words, jabbering all the time and is generally a joy to be around.

Martin (the proud Dada) is smitten and in-LOVE with his Little Miss. He provides very well for his family and works at All State Insurance.

Traci (the darling mam) is hopelessly devoted to Ryn. She is a part-time Early Intervention Therapist with Easter Seals UCP..

Tucker Staley Meyer Carpenter-is still trying to adjust....

This is my first post! I am a mom of the most beautiful 13 month old little girl who is the light of my world. I am also married to the most amazing man-Martin and have a teriffic cat-Tucker. This blog, hopefully, will help us keep up with family and friends.
